2024年4月、西アフリカのシエラレオネから大使館推薦の国費留学生のAlhaji Muhamad Salieu Jallohさんが渡日しました。9月まで黒髪で日本語を学び、10月からは本格的に上野研究室で研究活動を始める予定です。
Alhajiさんから日本での意気込みを一言いただきました。
I am thrilled to join the Ueno Lab. As an ambitious young scientist having worked on viral pathogens; it is exciting joining the Ueno Lab which has vast expertise in virological research. I am looking forward not only to improve on already acquired skills, but also excited to learn new techniques that are vital in elucidating virial characteristics under the supervision of Professor Ueno and the wonderful diverse team at the facility. I am also looking forward to using this platform to build relations and broaden collaborations.
