Ueno Lab congratulates Dr. Doreen Kamori (former Ph.D. student at our lab and currently visiting faculty member at Kumamoto Univ) on being awarded the MWELECELE MALECELA MEMORIAL AWARD presented during the 32nd Annual Joint Scientific Conference on 14th May 2024 by the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Doto Biteko at JNICC, Dar es Salaam.
The MWELECELE MALECELA MEMORIAL AWARD is awarded to the female health researchers in Tanzania by the National Institute for Medical Research in commemoration of the late Dr. Mwelecele Ntuli Malecela who was among the most well-known and respected female researchers, scientists and public health leaders in Africa. Dr. Kamori is well deserved awardee based on her ongoing contributions to the public health in Tanzania and Africa at large.
